Today more than ever, our youth are demanding to be heard. We have heard the cry, and we are answering the call through action and collaboration. Writing Our Wrongs, Inc. and My Brother's Keeper Foundation have joined forces to provided education and create opportunities for our youth to know their voice through writing and speaking and step into the world with the courage to be change!
THE PROGRAM TRACK
Students will experience two program tracks throughout the program with a holistic approach of addressing the internal and external factors that affect our students' success. Our goal is to cultivate strong mentor relationships and follow the matriculation of our students and measure the impact of their participation in our program. We are invested to see youth who are marginalized with the same opportunities in academic success, civic engagement, and media and cultural influence. This requires every student to know their voice and how to use it effectively to implement the change the want to see.
The MBK Foundation uses The Passport to Life Program Track to teach students courage and motivation through goal-setting, accountability, courage and motivation.
Our mission is to embrace the pursuit of excellence both inside and outside the classroom. We encourage critical thinking and emphasize the learning process over rote memorization.
It takes courage to set your goals and have the motivation to reach them! We offer two collaborative program tracks to help our students see results from the goals they set and learn how to overcome internal barriers, distractions and set backs to being their very best.
Our curricula includes service and project based learning. We understand that confidence comes from doing, and that success means knowing how to serve where we live.
All youth have the opportunity to learn civic responsibility and the power of their voice through media projects and community service.
We understand that change comes from long term measurable growth and sustainability. We partner with our school system to track each student's progress through the program and the effects of what they learn in our program within their school academic setting.
We use differentiation instruction so that our student receive individualized mentorship and tutoring through the program track and can their pace of learning.
Our sponsors, volunteers and partners in education make this program possible. Connect today to be a Partner in Education.
